Success Stories of Overseas Filipinos in Milan, Italy

Milan has been tagged as one of our destination highlights for 2022, featuring stories of our kababayans that have made it in the fields of art, music, make-up, and fashion.

The success of the Quiambao family did not happen overnight. Leovelyn, who had to hit pause in her own personal dreams, focused on raising her family so that her husband (Augil) and daughter (Megan) could pursue theirs. Now, they are enjoying the fruits of their labor with Tattoo Ink Master by Augil Quiambao, the 1st Filipino tattoo shop in Milan, and Megan’s flourishing career in modeling.

Filipino underground hip-hop rapper Zargon struggled in the early stages of his life, finding himself surrounded with bad influence. Eventually, he was able to pick himself up after building his career in music while also building a family of his own.

Filipino entrepreneur Jan Malco considers Milan as his second home, falling in love with the place and its people. He also shares the importance of surrounding yourself in a Filipino community that supports one another.

Celebrity make-up artist Monique Cruz did not get the support when she first started out in the industry. Now, she finds herself working in Milan Fashion Week with brands such as Fendi, Moncler, and Michael Cinco.
