Exploring the South Coast Botanic Garden in Palos Verdes

Can you imagine how an old landfill turned into 87 acres of wonder? The beautiful South Coast Botanic Garden in the Palos Verdes Peninsula is a collection of space made for everyone to see and what sets it apart from other gardens is the character and grit that it has because of its history.

In this So Local episode, #SCBGarden CEO Adrienne Nakashima walks us through the different locations of the garden and tells us how all of this is a result of their vision plan back in 2013. Just the fact that the property was built over a landfill, Adrienne believes that it sends out a great message for younger generations that you could make something beautiful out of nothing. With this, their goal is to always make sure to give its visitors an experience that’s valuable and wholesome with all its spaces and exhibits that they’ve made universally accessible.
