As we continue our celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month, we sat down with Bianca Nepales to discuss and highlight the potential of inclusive storytelling in Hollywood.
Bianca, who has always engaged in volunteering and public service, is currently serving as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Lionsgate. Her passion for creating powerful stories, along with her advocacy to create spaces for minorities, has allowed her to provide an avenue for representation to the global audiences.
According to her, there is no difficulty in championing inclusivity in Lionsgate since they firmly believe in telling bold, innovative stories as well as committing to creating greater representation. She also shares with us the four pillars for diversity in Hollywood at Lionsgate which are composed of 1) people, 2) suppliers, 3) philanthropy, and 4) content.
Seeing that there is progress and so much to look forward to in the next couple of years, Bianca seeks on pushing for more communities of color to contribute and showcase their creativity in the world of film and production.
