Heart health advocate Jenylyn Carpio shares her survival story and Go Red For Women

In 2005, Jenylyn Carpio had everything going on for her life: she was newly married, had just welcomed an infant; and she was set to finish college. She was 22 years old then, and thought juggling school and family life can be exhausting. “I had fainted and didn’t think any of it. Being a new mom I think I was just tired,” she shares. But a hard truth revealed itself to Caprio on July 11 of that year. She woke up to the sight of mother reviving her–she had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.

This #heartmonth, we sit down with Jenylyn as she opens up about her survival story. 17 years ago cardiac arrest changed her life, and now she advocates with the #AmericanHeartAssociation as one of the national ambassadors for heart health. “You are your own advocate for your health,” she says. “Heart disease knows no boundaries…”

Jenylyn is one of the Real Women of the Go Red Movement, where they all come together to stand up in the fight against cardiovascular diseases. Learn more about her story and her advocacy in this So Inspiring episode on #SoJannelleTV.
