Asia Jackson on her #MagandangMorenx Movement

Colorism and racism are problems that society continues to deal with. The occurrences of discrimination are more than enough reason for us to speak up and fight for ourselves and start being confident with the skin we’re born in.

In Part 1 of this #SoBold Segment, we feature actress, producer, advocate/public speaker and content creator Asia Jackson whose father is African-American and her mother whose roots trace back to the Igorot natives in Baguio, Philippines. Having grown up as a military brat, she was able to live and experience different communities and cultures, realizing how people can live in unity despite the differences in race.

As Asia grew to be the successful woman that she is today, she continues to utilize her platform and become the role model she wants her audiences to look up to, speaking about social issues such as colorism, mental health, cultural identity and self-empowerment. She also talks more about the movement she created called #MagandangMorenx as a way to celebrate diversity in Filipina beauty.
