Justin Sergio Navarra’s Journey from Basketball to Fashion

So Jannelle TV takes pride in featuring different immigrants who are thriving in their respective fields. For this segment, we are highlighting Justin Sergio Navarra who has been making his name in the fashion industry. He is the founder and designer of Sergio Velin, a menswear contemporary brand whose pieces are referenced by Filipino heritage and inspired by his own family.

Despite being born and raised in America, he moved to the Philippines to play college basketball. However, it was fashion that he was immensely passionate about. Upon moving back to the U.S., he applied all the things that he learned from his family’s culture and heritage and transpired that energy into building his own fashion brand.

Justin aspires to pay tribute to his family through creating pieces by what his parents wore coming to the U.S. trying to impress and be of the American standard. With all his hard work and determination, his parents are truly proud of him for what he has achieved and for doing what he loves. In the future, he envisions that Sergio Velin will continue to expand to womenswear, furniture, and home decor.
