Establishing Partnerships to #StopTheHate

The #StopTheHate campaign’s top priority is to fight for the safety and well-being of Asian communities. And with the help of the partnerships made by the California State Library, people have been able to create more resources that are helpful to combat the rising numbers of hate crimes and hate incidents.

In this So Informed Segment, we bring messages from AG Rob Bonta; State Superintendent Tony Thurmond; CA Business Consumer Services & Housing Agency Secretary Lourdes Castro Ramirez, CA Department of Social Services Director Kim Johnson; and CA Commission on Asian & Pacific Islander American Affairs Chair Karthick Ramakrishnan as they inform us on the progress and the steps they’ve been taking lately for the community.

Thurmond shares that they rolled out anti-biased education as an important tool to help recognize diversity. They have also been operating the “CA vs Hate Portal and Phone Line” as a powerful lifeline for people who have been victims of hate incidents in order to provide them access to support groups and self-defense classes.
