Filled with adrenaline and so ready to compete, #RemedyRule is part of the #Philippineteam bound to the #TokyoSummerOlympics with the ultimate goal of finally winning the country its first-ever Olympic Gold medal.?All the way from Austin, Texas, Rule chats with Jannelle So about her love for the sport and how she cannot remember a time in her life that she wasn’t swimming. Rule represented the Philippines at the 2019 Southeast Asain Games where she collected a bronze medal in the women’s 200 freestyle and took silver in the 200 butterfly. Unlike in the other sports where athletes go to Olympic trials, Rule earned a spot on the Olympic team when she got an invitation having made it to the FINA B cut and accumulated enough FINA points in approved meets such as the World Championships during the time period of March 1, 2019 through June 27, 2021.
She considers the pandemic to be her career’s greatest challenge, as pools were closed down. But focusing on what she can control such as her effort and attitude, she swiftly got back to training as soon as the world reopened.
Always flashing those big smiles, she attributes her positive outlook to doing what she is passionate about and now pursuing it to bring glory for the country.?? Learning wonderful lessons, gaining life-long friends and having a lot of fun, her love story with swimming is sure to be a forever affair.?♀️❤️?
